Preparing for standardized tests is a huge part of the college planning process, it can also be a pricey one. Luckily, there are ACT resources that help you prepare for free!
What is included in ACT’s free resources?
You will find an online learning tool specifically designed to help you improve your ACT scores and ultimately succeed in college and your future career. Within the tool, you will find official ACT practice tests, video tutorials of ACT concepts, and quizzes to help you test your knowledge as you go. If you’ve already taken the ACT or PreACT, you can add your previous scores to receive a customized study plan to help you improve.
How does it work?
To get started, create an account on ACT here. You can then take quizzes on targeted subjects to test your knowledge. If you’ve already taken the ACT or PreACT, you can enter your results and you will then be directed to practice videos that are customized to what you need most. ACT’s free resources will keep track of your scores and help you identify the areas that you need help in most and provide you resources to improve those areas.
How often should I use it?
ACT recommends that you practice for at least 30 minutes/day, 2-3 times/week. Even with your probably jam-packed schedule, that sounds completely doable. Do you crave structure in your life? ACT even offers a sample schedule you can follow to keep you on track.
Other helpful things you can find
Aside from the test prep resources, you will find a really helpful tab titled “Tips and Strategies.” Here you will see general ACT strategy tips, tips for each specific test section, how to prep for the test day, and what to expect on the actual test day. Being comfortable with the layout of the test ahead of time will allow you to focus on the task at hand with greater confidence.
Whether you’re taking the ACT for the first time or again to improve your score, it’s a great resource to help you achieve your goals. Good luck on your ACT, we are rooting for you!
