Meet Caleb, a senior at University of Texas at Austin majoring in Marketing. He previously attended Troy High School in Troy, Texas.

What factors were most important when deciding which college to attend?

I wanted to attend a college that has a great ranking, an exciting and adventurous environment, would challenge me, and was somewhat close to home.

In high school, I wish I would have tried…

Hang gliding!

How would you characterize your school?

Activist, Liberal, and Sporty.

What types of clubs, activities, sports, jobs, etc. are you involved with on campus?

Texas American Marketing Association and YoungLife.

What are three things you won’t read in the school’s brochure?

Seeing the albino squirrels are a rarity, so don’t count on them too much to ace your exams. “The Eyes of Texas” plays every night at 9:00 P.M. and is a good way to end the night. The Cypress Bend Cafe by San Jacinto Hall has really good burgers.

Best on-campus event:

Torchlight Parade (pep rally before Texas-OU football game).

Favorite Class:

Business Law and Ethics.

Favorite Dining Hall Meal:

Quesadillas.

On weekends, students:

Go to Zilker Park, Barton Springs, or downtown.

It’s 1AM on Saturday. Where are you?

I’m most likely in my apartment with my friends playing the really old Nintendo Version of Mario Party.

It’s finals week and the libraries are packed. Where do you go study?

I find a nice patch of grass in front of the UT Tower and get to work!

Before I graduate, I want to…

Hike the Grand Canyon!

Anything else awesome that we should know about your college?

If you go here, you could sit right under Matthew McConaughey’s suite at football games (it’s a blast)!
