Congrats! You’ve made it to your senior year. Between college applications, standardized testing, and keeping up in your classes, we know there’s a lot happening in your final year of high school. Don’t forget to take a moment to appreciate all your accomplishments and enjoy your life as a senior! Here are some ways to get started.

Take a class you’ve always wanted to try

Check out all the different electives offered at your school, and sign up for a class you’ve always wanted to take. Senior year is the perfect chance to try something new! Consider subjects that will help you unwind amidst all the hard work of senior year such as sculpture, photography, pop culture, or band.

Attend a school event

This is your last chance to attend the homecoming dance, the school play, or comedy sports night! These are memories you will look back on fondly in the future. Have fun with it!

Do a random act of kindness

Now that you are a senior, you have the chance to set an example for the younger students at your school. You have the power to make others feel more included. Some random acts of kindness may include helping a new student find their way to class, helping a friend study for a test, giving compliments freely, or thanking the teachers, counselors, and mentors in your life.

Support a cause you care about

Maybe you want to do something for the environment, help a fundraiser, or volunteer at the animal shelter. If you need help finding opportunities, make an appointment with your high school counselor. They would be happy to help!

Make a new friend

It’s likely you already have established friends during your time in high school, but don’t close yourself off to making new connections. You never know who will stick around in your life after graduation! It might just be the new pal who sits next to you in Physics class.

Start a journal

There are all kinds of benefits to keeping a journal, from processing your emotions to improving your memory. It’s also a keepsake of this time of growth in your life. Write about your daily routine, adventures with your friends, or your dreams for the future.

Create a bucket list

Gather some friends, and make a list of activities you would like to do before you graduate high school. Maybe you want to have a water balloon fight, plan a road trip, or register to vote when you turn 18. For more ideas, check out our high school bucket list.
